Easter – what does it mean to you and your family?

As Easter fast approaches, share with us how you and your family celebrate Easter. Hopefully we get some replies from other countries (and cultures) so that my students can compare.
Thanks for your replies….

Hi Mr Mac
My family knows of the Easter stories but doesnt really do anything religious or special for Easter. For Easter my sister and I usually wake up early and head downstairs and there is usually a chair each with all our Easter eggs. I always get this chicken in a go cart egg which is about 10 cm tall and has flavoured eggs inside. We usually count them to see who has more. I normally have more because Im not fussed about getting small eggs. My sister likes bigger eggs more.
My last years egg total was 105 eggs. All nice tasting.

Hey there again!
My family do the same thing every year!
In the morning my brothers and I wake up my parents and then get dressed and go outside and search for Easter eggs and bunnys and such. We then visit our Nan and Grandad and other rellies and get even MORE chocolate. I’m assuming that we’re doing that this year aswell.
What do you do Mr Mac? Do you just get handed chocolate? Or do you have to work for it? Hehehe….Or do you look for things too?
That’s all for now!

Hey Mr Mac
Chocolate
Spider Girl
See? Six words.
We have to wait until our parents wake up and then we can go look for chocolate. It’s really exciting because we can usually see the eggs outside our window. We get some mini eggs, big eggs, some lollies and one chocolate bunny.I try to save them for later but once I have one egg I eat them all! Some times we get a package from our godmother and it’s filled with chocolate eggs. Some times we also get presents because our godmother owns a toy store. Easter is one of my favorite holidays.

Hi Mr Mac
I am not doing much for Easter this year .
All I do usually is when the Easter Bunny (mum and dad) comes he hides our eggs in the loung room and we find them. They are allways easy. We also catch up with friends and family for even MORE choclate (yay yay whoo) what do you do for Easter and is their any cultural reson that you celebrate Easter ?

Hi Mr Mac
My family and I don’t do anything really special. In the morning, my brother and I search for chocolate eggs in the front yard, and then we get a clue to find a large bunny. Mine is usually in the letter box.
Now we have a new tradition: we watch Life Of Brian! Wow, that’s freaky! The person from the DVD store just rang up and said that it has just come in!
See-ya!

Hi Mr Mac
I just found out that we will be going to Adelaide Zoo for Easter now. There are some competitions that I will be doing, and fingers crossed that I will win something!
Happy Easter everyone!

Hi Mr Mac
We are usually at mum’s on Easter, so we do the following:
wake up mum at 7:00, NO EARLIER! and pick up the trail of eggs that lead from our bedrooms to the living room. Then we have chocolate for breakfast.
But this year we are at dads, so we will probably have our eggs in the morning, then I know we will go over to my dad’s partner’ parent’s for lunch.
Happy Easter!

Hey again!
Turns out we did something different (well sort of…). My brothers friend came over and he joined our hunt! Also this time we visited my nan and grandad on Saturday not Easter, I guess that’s not much different but for me that’s a big change!
This is pretty random, (hahah good job Hazzah) but I love the yellow dress that the weather girl is wearing! Do you choose them yourself or do they just come up automatically?
That’s all for now

Hey Mr. Mac,
For Easter my sister’s and I wake up at 7:00am and run down to the lounge room to see what we have. We don’t really celebrate Easter but it’s really nice to be with the family. It’s a pity that my mum and dad had to work on Easter but I still got to see them after work. I haven’t eaten any of my chocolate yet. But it’s very tempting. How was your Easter?

Hi Mr Mac
Jonny & I wake up well my Dad puts the Easter eggs out then we go for the hunt. We got 20 eggs We go to my Dad’s bed and put all of the eggs at on his bed. That is about it there is not a lot about Easter for my family. BUT Jesus comes back alive.

Hey, Mr. Mac.
Okay, you don’t know me. I’m Christina from the USA. For Easter my family hides some eggs around the house with candy inside. Otherwise it’s pretty much a P. A. R. T. Y. party!
Hey dude, I’m from the USA and Easter means Candy and breakfast burritos… so, yes, you can check out my blog at: http://www.moorehayescaleb.edublogs.org
My family has a great Easter. We go to church and come home to a huge brunch. Then we hunt for Easter eggs. (as many do!) We get lots of candy. As a matter of fact, I still have lots of Easter candy. The religious part is always happening. Praise the Lord!

Hey Mr Mac
This has nothing to do with Easter but oh well. I couldnt find Chistina’s post anywhere and I looked on all the comments on every topic. I couldn’t find the person Hannah is writing to either, only Ariel. Maybe we could have a look at school…?
